Privacy
This covers slashdivision.com and the apps published from it. The short version is that very little is collected, and nothing is used for tracking.
Slashdivision is a small studio run by Sorin Dinica. Questions or requests about your data: licenses@slashdivision.com.
This website
The site is static HTML. It has no accounts, no cookies and no analytics or advertising scripts. A small first-party script runs the theme switch, the human or agent reading choice, and light page motion. Your Light or Dark choice and that reading choice are remembered in this browser only and are never sent anywhere.
Like any web host, the server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, the page requested and the browser’s name) for security and troubleshooting. They are not used to track you or build profiles.
Download counts store only a file name, how many times it was downloaded, and the first and last date. No IP addresses or browser details.
Buying an app
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects what it needs to take the payment and handle tax, such as your name, email, country and payment details, under Paddle’s privacy policy. We never see your card or bank details. On the app’s page, the checkout runs in Paddle’s own script, loaded from Paddle.
From Paddle we receive your order number and your email address. For each license we keep:
- the order number, your email address, the license key and the date it was issued;
- which product and price it was for.
We use this only to send your key, send it again if you lose it, handle refunds and answer support questions. Your email address is also written into the key, so the app can show who it is licensed to.
License emails are sent through Resend, which delivers them on our behalf and sees your email address and the message. We don’t send newsletters or marketing.
The thanks page, the “Lost your key?” form and the activation page only use your order number, email or key to show or send you the key. To stop abuse, the server counts recent requests using a salted, one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself. Those counters only last a short time.
Soneme
Soneme plays files you open on your Mac. It doesn’t create an account, and it never sends your music, your file names or what you listen to anywhere. It has no analytics and no crash reporting.
On your Mac it keeps its settings, your queue and recent folders. The trial start date and your license key are stored in the macOS Keychain.
Now Playing and the media keys use Apple’s system features, so the track title, artist, artwork and time can show in Control Center.
The website version of Soneme connects to slashdivision.com only for these:
- Refund check, about once a week. It downloads the list of refunded licenses and compares it with your key on your Mac. The list holds one-way codes made from order numbers, with no names or email addresses, and nothing about you is sent beyond what any web request shows (your IP address, in the server’s access log).
- Update checks. It asks before it starts checking automatically, and you can change that in Settings or use Check for Updates by hand. A check downloads the update list; it sends no information about your Mac.
- Links you click, such as Buy, Lost your key? or this page, which open in your browser.
If Soneme is ever offered on the Mac App Store, the App Store copy is bought and checked through Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy, and doesn’t make the refund check.
Your data and your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to licenses@slashdivision.com. We keep license records while a license may still need support, because they are how a lost key can be sent again. If we delete yours, we can no longer resend your key. Paddle keeps its own records of your purchase, as tax law requires.
