Terms

The short version of how buying and using a Slashdivision app works.

Slashdivision is the name under which Sorin Dinica publishes apps and writing. These terms cover slashdivision.com and the apps published here, such as Soneme. Questions: licenses@slashdivision.com.

Buying through Paddle

Purchases on this site are handled by Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt and invoice. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the payment itself. For anything about the app, write to us.

Prices are shown on each app’s page. The checkout shows the final amount in your currency, including tax where it applies. Prices may change over time, for example after a launch price ends. A change never affects a purchase you have already made.

Free trial

Apps that have a trial are free to use, with every feature, for the number of days shown on their page (14 days for Soneme). The trial starts the first time you open the app. When it ends, the app still opens and keeps your settings, and asks you to unlock it before it plays.

Your license

A purchase gives you a personal license key, sent by email right after you buy.

  • One person, all your own Macs. Use the app on every Mac you own or use yourself. The key works offline.
  • One-time purchase. There is no subscription. Updates within the same major version (for Soneme, every 1.x version) are free.
  • A future major version, if there is ever one, may be a paid upgrade, with a discount for people who already own the app. The version you bought keeps working.
  • Keep your key to yourself. Don’t share, publish or resell it.
  • A key stops working if its purchase is refunded or charged back.

Lost the key? Ask for it again with Lost your key?, and it is sent to the email you bought with.

Refunds

Full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. How to ask and what happens next is on the refunds page.

Updates

The website version of an app can check this site for updates, and it asks you before it starts doing that automatically. Updates are signed, so the app only installs updates that come from us.

App Store copies

If an app is also offered on the Mac App Store, a copy bought there is sold by Apple under Apple’s terms, and Apple handles its trial, purchase and refunds. Website licenses and App Store purchases don’t transfer to each other.

The software

The apps are provided as they are. We work to keep them reliable and fix problems quickly, but we can’t promise they are free of bugs or suit every purpose. To the extent the law allows, our liability for an app is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Changes

When these terms change, the date below changes too. A purchase is covered by the terms that applied when you made it.
